Start with the right time.
01How early should I arrive at Rassada Pier before departure?
Aim to arrive 45–60 minutes before the time on your ticket. That leaves room for check-in, baggage handling and the walk to your boarding point. Follow an earlier cut-off if your operator specifies one.
02Should I book my ferry ticket in advance or buy it at the pier?
If you need a specific sailing, book before going to the pier. Walk-in tickets may be available when seats remain, but availability and the price at the counter can differ. Keep the confirmation for the service you selected.
03Do I need to print my ticket, or is a mobile e-ticket accepted?
A booking confirmation on your phone is normally enough for check-in. Save a copy that you can open without a connection, and bring the passport or ID used for the booking if your operator asks for it. Follow the instructions on your ticket.

04What is the difference between a standard ferry and a fast speedboat?
Choose a standard ferry if you prefer more space and a steadier ride; the direct Phuket to Tonsai crossing takes about 2 hours. Choose a fast speedboat when the shortest crossing time matters most; it takes about 1 hour. Check the specific boat and arrival pier before booking.
05How much luggage can I bring on the boat?
Baggage limits vary by operator and vessel. Check the weight and number of bags on your booking. Ask the operator in advance about scuba equipment, surfboards or other large items, as restrictions or extra handling charges may apply.
06Is overnight parking available at Rassada Pier?
Paid overnight parking is listed at Rassada Pier. Confirm the current rate, hours and vehicle rules with the parking desk before leaving your car, and keep your parking ticket.
When plans change.
07What happens to my booking if it rains or the weather is bad?
Rain alone does not necessarily stop a departure. If the operator cancels a service, follow the notice from the operator or your booking team. They will confirm the rescheduling or refund available under your ticket terms.
08Can I change my departure time or cancel my ticket?
Request a date or time change at least 48 hours before departure. Any change depends on seat availability and the terms on your ticket. Standard tickets are nonrefundable, and a no-show does not keep the seat for another departure. Check your confirmation for the exact rules that apply to your booking.
09Are there direct boats to Laemtong Beach, or do I have to stop at Tonsai?
Some sailings go directly to Laemtong Beach; others stop at Tonsai Pier only. Check the exact arrival point for your selected departure before paying. A ticket to Tonsai does not include a transfer to Laemtong unless your booking specifically lists one.
